Excel Speed Challenge — Test Your Shortcut Skills

Think you know your Excel shortcuts? The Speed Challenge puts your knowledge to the ultimate test: 60 seconds on the clock, unlimited questions, and a combo system that rewards consecutive correct answers. It's the most intense way to practice Excel online.

Unlike the standard quiz, the speed round doesn't stop after 20 questions. You keep answering until time runs out, with questions drawn continuously from all 100+ shortcuts. The combo bonus (up to +5 extra points per correct answer) means that fast, accurate streaks dramatically boost your score.

This mode is perfect for experienced users who already know the basics and want to sharpen their reflexes. Can you beat your high score? Your best results are saved to the Leaderboard automatically.

Not ready for speed mode yet? Build your foundation with flash card practice, take the untimed practice quiz, or review the full shortcut cheat sheet. You can also practice by category: Basics, Formulas, or Advanced Techniques.

Excel Speed Practice FAQ

How does the combo scoring system work?
Each correct answer earns 10 base points. For every consecutive correct answer after the first, you earn a combo bonus: +1 for the second, +2 for the third, up to a maximum of +5 bonus points per answer. A wrong answer resets your combo to zero. This means a long streak of correct answers can earn you significantly more than answering the same number of questions with breaks between.
What's a good score for the 60-second Excel challenge?
Beginners typically score 50–80 points. Intermediate users who've practiced regularly can reach 120–180. Expert-level scores above 200 require both deep shortcut knowledge and fast decision-making. Your scores are saved locally so you can track your improvement over time.
Do wrong answers deduct points?
No, wrong answers don't deduct points — but they do reset your combo streak to zero, which means you lose the bonus multiplier. The correct answer is briefly shown so you can learn from mistakes as you play.
